Chift Raises €10.5M in a Series A Round led by BlackFin Capital Partners

Chift, building the agentic infrastructure for financial connectivity, led by Gauthier Henroz, Matthieu Hertoghe, and Henry Hertoghe, has raised a €10.5M Series A to solve Europe's financial connectivity problem.
The round is led by BlackFin Capital Partners, the European fintech specialist, with its existing investors Entourage, Shapers, Seeder Fund, and Wallonie Entreprendre all doubling down.
Chift’s latest milestone reflects the support of its investors, employees, and customers. The company is focused on a fundamental challenge in European SMB finance: financial data remains fragmented across different systems and countries, limiting cross-border software adoption, AI-driven financial automation, and a unified view of business finances. As a result, interoperability is emerging as a defining challenge for European SMB finance.
Interoperability Is the Defining Problem of European SMB Finance.
Modern SMBs rely on dozens of specialised software tools. While digitisation has created significant value, it has also produced growing fragmentation across business systems.
In Europe, the challenge is amplified by national ecosystems. Accounting, point-of-sale, and business software vary widely across countries, with different market leaders, standards, and financial systems. Europe remains a collection of local technology markets that were not designed to operate seamlessly across borders.
The result is financial data trapped in silos and software companies repeatedly rebuilding integrations for each market.
Chift was founded to address this challenge by connecting business software and enabling greater interoperability. The underlying premise is simple: connected tools create more valuable products, stronger partnerships, and a more integrated European SMB ecosystem.
The Opportunity of the Decade.
Two forces are reshaping European SMB finance: e-invoicing and AI.
E-invoicing is digitising businesses across Europe. As mandates roll out, millions of SMBs are moving their invoicing and financial operations onto software, creating new opportunities for automation.
AI is turning software into agents. Finance and accounting agents depend on access to the underlying business data. Without connectivity across existing tools, their ability to automate is limited.
Together, these shifts are transforming accounting and accelerating the move from manual processes to connected, AI-driven workflows. With around 30 million SMBs across Europe and the UK and a €174 billion accounting services market that remains largely manual, the opportunity is significant.
Integration is no longer invisible plumbing. It is becoming critical infrastructure for the next generation of business software.
The AI Layer for Financial Connectivity.
Europe’s fragmented financial ecosystem makes interoperability challenging and creates a significant opportunity for platforms that can solve it at scale.
Since its founding, Chift has focused exclusively on accounting and financial data, building a platform that understands the accounting context behind each connection. Over four years, the company has also developed access to financial systems across Europe through direct partnerships, creating a connectivity layer that is difficult to replicate.
Accounting remains the core source of financial context, shaped by years of rules, validations, and local regulations. As AI moves deeper into finance, this underlying data layer is becoming critical to building reliable financial agents.
Chift now connects software companies to more than 120 financial systems across Europe. More than 150 software companies use the platform to connect over 50,000 businesses across 13 countries, including Sage, Revolut, Qonto, Pennylane, and Mollie.
The next phase will move beyond connectivity toward intelligent integrations capable of understanding financial data, configuring themselves, and taking action.
Where Chift Goes From Here.
The latest funding will support Chift’s expansion across Europe, with priorities including:
Scaling across Spain, the UK, Nordics, Germany, and Italy.
Building an agentic layer that enables faster setup and secure action on financial data.
Reaching more European SMBs through software providers, accountants, and business partners.
Expanding the team across Europe.
The long-term vision is to make financial connectivity infrastructure for businesses across Europe and the UK, regardless of the tools or markets they operate in. As software evolves and AI agents take on more tasks, intelligent connectivity will become increasingly critical.
Chift is also hiring for 15 roles across Europe in the second half of 2026 as it builds the infrastructure for connected, AI-driven financial workflows.
