Artificial Labs, building the foundations of modern specialty (re)insurance, led by Martin Reith, David King, Johnny Bridges, Artur Kisiolek, and Ed Howkins, has raised $45 million Series B funding round led by CommerzVentures, a leading European Fintech investor, with support from Move Capital Fund I, a leading European B2B Tech investor, and continued backing from existing investors, including Augmentum Fintech, 6 Degrees Capital, FOM, and TrueSight Ventures.
“This round provides the capacity for confident growth,” said David King, Co-Founder of Artificial. “The investment supports scalable expansion aligned with client demand, backed by strong teams, advanced technology, and the stability required to help large brokers and carriers modernise their operations.”
Artificial is expected to double in size over the next 12 months, strengthening its position as a leading insurance technology partner. The company also plans to expand into the US in 2026, while continuing to grow its presence and reinforce its leadership in the London Market.
“The platform addresses real challenges across the insurance market,” said Johnny Bridges, Co-Founder of Artificial. “The investment supports team expansion, continued innovation, and Artificial’s position as the natural choice for brokers and carriers seeking a more intelligent approach to digital trading.”
“CommerzVentures is pleased to support Artificial as global leadership expands,” said Heiko Schwender, Managing Partner at CommerzVentures. “With more than a decade of backing next-generation technology businesses, the firm recognises Artificial’s platform as a solution to a longstanding structural inefficiency in commercial and specialty insurance. The team’s combination of deep insurance domain expertise and world-class engineering uniquely positions the company to redefine the market.”
“Artificial brings together deep insurance expertise, strong client relationships, and highly innovative technology,” said Hervé Malausséna, Founding Partner at Move Capital Fund I. “This combination positions the company to address critical bottlenecks in specialty risk placement globally, reflecting Move Capital’s conviction in platforms that translate domain expertise into scalable, data-driven operational execution.”
