Formalize, a Copenhagen-based compliance software company led by Jakob Lilholm, Magnus Boye, Christian Jessen, and Kristoffer Abell, has secured €30 million in a Series B funding co-led by Acton Capital (DE) and BlackFin Tech (FR), with participation from West Hill Capital and CIBC Innovation Banking.
Formalize helps European companies manage growing regulatory complexity by automating compliance workflows across frameworks like GDPR, NIS2, DORA, and ISO 27001, consolidating requirements in one platform to streamline information security and keep organizations ahead of change.
Since its Series A in 2024, Formalize has grown to serve over 8,000 organizations and 850 consultancies across Europe. In Spain, it powers the national whistleblowing authority, giving millions a secure channel to speak up. The new funding will help Formalize scale further, enhance its product, and expand its European presence.
The new funding will help Formalize cement its position as Europe’s leading compliance operations platform, expanding into key markets like DACH and France with new offices and local teams.
Investors are confident in its vision. Acton Capital’s Fritz Oidtmann praised Formalize’s ability to simplify complex, country-specific regulations for SMEs, calling it unmatched in ease and precision. BlackFin Capital’s Michele Foradori added that Formalize’s strong growth and AI-driven workflows position it perfectly to turn regulatory complexity into a competitive edge.
