Defense & Space Tech Company Ursa Major Awarded $32.9 Million Contract From Stratolaunch.

Founded in 2015 by former SpaceX and Blue Origin propulsion engineer Joe Laurienti And Currently led by Dan Jablonsky as the CEO, Ursa Major has secured a $32.9 million contract to supply 16 upgraded Hadley H13 engines to Stratolaunch, expanding their partnership and supporting increased flight operations over the coming years.

Ursa Major is a U.S.-based aerospace and defense company specializing in hypersonics, solid rocket motors, in-space propulsion, and launch systems. With facilities in Colorado and Ohio, it uses advanced manufacturing to rapidly deliver critical capabilities across land, air, sea, and space for the U.S. and its allies.


The upgraded Hadley H13 engine boosts reusability with more starts, lowering cost per flight and enabling new mission profiles. Ursa Major’s Hadley engines have already proven their capabilities in Talon-A missions, sustaining Mach 5+ speeds and successful recoveries.
