With €5M Series A Raised, IVEX Aims to Bring AI-Driven On-Road Automotive Safety Testing To The US and Asia

IVEX, a deep-tech startup developing technology for automotive safety testing, led by Mario Torres and the team, has raised €5M in a Series A funding round to accelerate its engineering roadmap and expand its presence in North America and Asia. The round was backed by existing investors The Faktory and Dedicated.lu, alongside private investors.
IVEX will use the funding to expand its coverage of NCAP protocols, scale its data-processing platform, and enter new automotive markets, with a focus on the US and Asia.
Assessing advanced automotive technologies such as ADAS and autonomous driving requires analysing vast amounts of camera, sensor, and vehicle data. Traditionally, engineers manually review road footage, identify signs and conditions, compare them with vehicle information and assess whether the system responded correctly, a process that becomes difficult to scale.
IVEX addresses this challenge with a platform combining computer vision, AI and cloud-based data processing to automate on-road safety testing. The technology simultaneously analyses road conditions, vehicle displays and other signals, comparing them against applicable safety protocols to determine whether the vehicle recognised and responded to road information correctly.
95% Less Engineering Time Spent on Data Analysis.
IVEX keeps engineers in the loop while automating time-consuming data analysis. The platform can reduce engineering time by more than 95%, in one example, processing 400 hours of multi-sensor driving data required just eight hours of engineering work.
IVEX aims to become the operating system for automotive safety testing, with an AI-powered platform supporting different safety protocols, testing requirements, and vehicle functions. Its models improve as more vehicle and driving data is processed, creating a growing foundation for future testing applications.
A trusted supplier to Euro NCAP, IVEX has supported on-road testing campaigns in more than 20 countries and accumulated over 100,000 kilometres of driving data across more than 50 vehicle models. Founded in 2018 as a KU Leuven spin-out, the company holds six patents, including one in the US, and is ISO 27001 certified.
Expansion into North America and Asia.
The Series A will help IVEX expand beyond Europe into North America and Asia, bringing its AI-powered testing and data-processing platform to regulators, testing organisations and automotive companies. The company will also broaden its NCAP protocol coverage and strengthen its infrastructure to support larger volumes of data across more countries, vehicle types and testing environments.
