ThinkOrbital Inc., constructing and defending the critical infrastructure required for a thriving space economy, led by Colonel Lee Rosen, USAF, Ret. and Vojtech Holub, Ph.D., has announced the successful close of its Seed Round, led by TFX Capital.
The new funding accelerates development of technologies that will shape on-orbit defense and operations, from spacecraft inspection using Space-to-Space X-ray to asset servicing and large-scale orbital infrastructure.
With national security and commercial systems heavily dependent on space, adversaries are positioned to exploit that reliance. Understanding and defending this domain is now essential. “Space is no longer a remote frontier; it is an operational domain,” noted Col. Lee Rosen (USAF Ret.), Co-founder and CEO of ThinkOrbital.
ThinkOrbital’s Space-to-Space X-ray system advances to in-orbit testing, with demonstration missions scheduled for March and October 2026. The technology enables penetrating inspection and imaging to support space domain awareness, including capability assessment, anomaly resolution, and damage analysis.
ThinkOrbital is pioneering in-space construction to enable large-scale orbital infrastructure, supporting:
Space-based data centers and compute platforms built for AI-driven workloads and resilience
Forward basing and “hot storage” of defense assets for rapid-response missions
High-volume facilities for manufacturing, science, and habitation
“If large, capable systems are to operate reliably in orbit, they must be built and serviced in orbit,” said Dr. Vojtech Holub, Co-Founder and CTO of ThinkOrbital.
“Our Space-to-Space X-ray system delivers the inspection and defense layer, while our construction technology unlocks the ability to build next-generation orbital infrastructure without size constraints.”
“Infrastructure at scale is the unlock for the next phase of the space economy, from manufacturing and defense to power and compute. ThinkOrbital has both the technology and the team to make that future real.”
