NaukNauk, helping you animate your world, led by Daniel Liu, has recently raised $20M in venture capital to advance its vision of establishing a creative community that celebrates the fandoms and collectibles people love.
Building an AI-First Social Network for Collectors.
The new funding will support NaukNauk’s vision of creating an AI-first social network for collectors, hobbyists, and fandom communities. Designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, the platform aims to connect people through shared interests while providing tools that help bring creative ideas, collections, and community-driven experiences to life.
Tapping Into the Growing Kidult Economy.
Nostalgia-driven consumer culture continues to gain momentum, with collectibles, toys, gaming, and fandom communities becoming increasingly important forms of entertainment, self-expression, and social connection. From LEGO enthusiasts and Disney fans to trading card collectors and tabletop gamers, the global “kidult” market has grown into a significant consumer segment.
NaukNauk is launching publicly after a stealth beta that attracted more than one million users. The platform aims to bring together collectors and fandom communities that are often fragmented across multiple social networks. By combining social features with AI-powered content creation tools, NaukNauk enables users to transform photos of collectibles and fandom moments into animated, shareable stories, creating new ways for enthusiasts to engage, create, and connect around shared passions.
Community-Powered Creativity.
NaukNauk allows users to create and share imaginative videos inspired by their favorite collectibles, characters, and fandoms. Community members can interact through likes, comments, and “Nauks,” a feature that enables users to remix and reinterpret existing content with their own creative spin.
To encourage discovery, the platform offers a personalized For You feed alongside dedicated fandom hubs covering interests such as Star Wars, plush collectibles, LEGO-style brick building, Marvel, Warhammer, and many others. The goal is to help enthusiasts connect, share inspiration, and participate in a more collaborative form of fandom-driven storytelling.
AI-Powered Creation Tools.
NaukNauk provides a range of AI-powered tools that help users transform photos of collectibles, toys, and custom creations into dynamic content:
Image to Story – Converts a single photo into a multi-scene video with a complete narrative arc.
Frame Flow – Uses two images as starting and ending points, generating a video that creates a story between them.
Image to Music Video – Turns a single image into a music-driven video featuring animated singing and dancing sequences.
Bring Images to Life – Animates a photo based on a user prompt, creating a short custom video clip.
Image to Comics – Generates a four-panel comic strip starring a chosen toy or collectible.
Template-Based Creation – Offers prebuilt templates ranging from action sequences to trending social content formats, making it easy to create and share unique fandom-inspired videos.
These tools are designed to make animation and storytelling accessible to anyone, regardless of creative or technical experience.
Building Around Joy, Creativity, and Community.
Early users describe NaukNauk as more than a content creation platform, highlighting its role as a creative and positive community experience. Some families use the platform as a shared activity, while others see it as a relaxing outlet for storytelling and self-expression.
According to co-founder Daniel Liu, the company is focused on serving the large and often overlooked community of adults who remain passionate about toys, collectibles, and fandom culture. Rather than using AI to replace human creativity, NaukNauk aims to use it as a tool that helps people express their imagination, celebrate their interests, and connect with others who share the same passions.
