REGENT Craft, the developer and manufacturer of Seaglider™ vessels, led by Billy Thalheimer and Mike Klinker, has raised $240 million, an equal mix of equity and debt, in a Series B funding round co-led by Mare Liberum and AE Ventures, with debt capital provided by Erebor Bank, marking a major milestone in REGENT's growth as it transitions from early-stage development toward full-scale manufacturing.
The funding comes as REGENT approaches several major milestones, including the first human flight of its Viceroy prototype, new military partnerships, and the start of manufacturing at its recently completed 255,000-square-foot Seaglider Manufacturing Facility in Rhode Island.
REGENT is seeing growing demand across both defense and commercial markets, including an expanded U.S. Marine Corps contract for Viceroy, rising interest in its autonomous Squire platform, and a commercial order book spanning six continents. The company has also completed military demonstrations of Squire, expanded its defense partnerships, and secured The Twenty Five as its first commercial U.S. delivery and launch partner.
The new funding will support REGENT as it moves toward full-scale manufacturing.
“This investment marks a critical inflection point for REGENT as the company moves from development into production,” said Billy Thalheimer, co-founder and CEO of REGENT. He highlighted momentum across the company’s defense and commercial pipelines, with the funding supporting manufacturing scale-up, certification milestones, and customer deliveries. Thalheimer also pointed to the maritime expertise of Mare Liberum and aerospace experience of AE Ventures as key strengths of the investor group.
Backed by Maritime, Aviation, and Defense Leaders.
The funding brings together investors with expertise across maritime, aviation, and national security, reflecting REGENT’s growing applications across commercial and defense markets.
Mare Liberum, which focuses on maritime technology and national security, is increasing its investment in REGENT after participating in previous rounds. AE Ventures, the venture capital arm of AE Industrial Partners, adds expertise across aerospace and national security, while Erebor Bank is providing debt financing.
New investors including DCVC are also participating, alongside existing backers such as Founders Fund, Caffeinated Capital, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Japan Airlines, and Giant Step Capital. The investor group reflects continued confidence in REGENT’s technology and its transition toward scaled manufacturing.
Growing Seaglider Demand Worldwide.
REGENT is expanding its international presence across commercial and defense markets. In the UAE, the company is deepening its partnership with the Strategic Development Fund, an EDGE Group investment company, to support early Seaglider operations and future manufacturing expansion.
In Europe, REGENT is working with Balnord in Poland on Baltic Sea defense requirements and with iGrow in Greece to develop commercial opportunities across the Aegean Islands.
