Palmer Energy Technology Ltd Acquires Brill Power and Announces New Investment to Accelerate UK Leadership in Battery Energy Storage

Palmer Energy Technology(PETL), a leader in Battery Energy Storage Systems, founded by former Aston Martin CEO and Nissan COO, Dr Andy Palmer CMG, and Wei Shao, announced the acquisition of Brill Power, led by Christoph Birkl, Carolyn Hicks, Damien Frost, and Peter Freedman. PETL has also announced a Series A round of ~£5 million from FirstGroup Energy Limited, Barclays Climate Ventures, and the University of Oxford.

Palmer Energy Technology Ltd (PETL) has acquired Oxford University spin-out Brill Power, a pioneer in cell-level control and active balancing technology for battery management systems. PETL will immediately integrate Brill’s electronics across its automotive-grade storage systems, combining enhanced safety and longer service life with Brill’s ability to draw optimal current from each cell based on its health.

The Brill Power brand will continue for module sales to third parties, while PETL plans to expand UK assembly and manufacturing to enhance quality control and shorten supply chains.
