Rocket Lab Unveils GHOST Deployable Launch System to Enable Responsive Space Missions Worldwide

Rocket Lab, a global leader in launch services and space systems, unveiled GHOST: a new globally deployable containerized launch system to enable suborbital and orbital launches from anywhere in the world. 

GHOST transforms Rocket Lab’s Electron and HASTE rockets into a mobile, launch-anywhere capability for multi-launch campaigns and national security missions.

The system fits within standard shipping containers and includes rockets, launch infrastructure, ground support, and range control systems for rapid deployment worldwide.

GHOST’s first site, Rocket Lab Launch Complex 4 at the Pacific Spaceport Complex in Kodiak, Alaska, will feature two pads designed for high-frequency launch campaigns.

The site will complement Rocket Lab’s existing launch complexes in New Zealand and Virginia, bringing the company’s total to six pads across two hemispheres. GHOST is expected to make its operational debut with a suborbital launch from Alaska in 2027.

Because Electron and HASTE share the same ground infrastructure, GHOST enables dual-launch operations from new locations, expanding the mission profiles of both vehicles and supporting growing demand for sovereign orbital and suborbital launch capabilities.

Its modular, compact design supports rapid site activation, responsive launches, and time-critical national security missions, including simultaneous launch operations.
