Led by Co-Founders Quintin Frerichs and Fred Ehrsam, Nudge raised $100 Million in Series A led by Thrive Capital and Greenoaks.

Nudge is developing advanced brain-interface technology designed to improve lives—safely, precisely, and without surgery. The first platform uses non-invasive focused ultrasound to stimulate and image the brain with millimeter precision. Three months ago, Nudge introduced Nudge Zero, its first human-ready system. The device is now in near-daily use in research studies to refine the platform, with patient applications expected to begin soon.

Nudge is developing a scalable, adaptive brain interface platform by vertically integrating hardware, software, and neuroscience. Delivering high-resolution ultrasound through the skull presents major challenges, as bone acts as a distorting lens and varies significantly across individuals. Even minor inaccuracies can affect outcomes.

To address this, the company is advancing skull-penetrating imaging, individualized sonication parameter optimization, and real-time feedback systems. Success requires breakthroughs in physics modeling, signal processing, and hardware design—guided by an evolving understanding of brain function and organization.
