Lupa, a veterinary care platform led by Nicolo Frisiani, Raul Lozano Martin, and Matei Bjola, has secured $20 million Series A investment led by European VC firm Singular, with participation from existing investor First Minute Capital, and angel investors including Michael Callahan, bringing the total funds raised to $25 million.

The global petcare market exceeds $350B but lags in tech maturity, with even major veterinary groups relying on systems from the 1990s that limit both clinical and business performance.

Founded in 2023 by Nicolò Frisiani, Matei Bjola (both ex-BCG), and Raul Lozano Martin (ex-Meta), Lupa is building a modern Operating System for veterinary clinics. The idea grew from a project improving one of the world’s largest vet groups, where outdated systems were revealed as a leash on productivity, prompting the founders to take action themselves.

Today, Lupa consolidates more than seven separate tools, including practice management, owner apps, in-patient tools, and AIScribe, into a single AI-native enterprise platform. Clinics running Lupa achieve double the ROI of those using disconnected point solutions, supported by industry-leading customer service to ensure full value from the system.

Lupa transforms veterinary care by connecting clinics and pet owners through a single app for bookings, messaging, payments, and a digital pet-health passport, with AI handling calls and scheduling. The team blends top tech talent with veterinary experts, driving fast adoption across independent clinics and enterprise groups.

Lupa has secured multi-year agreements with leading veterinary groups across the UK and Europe, deploying its AI-native software across hundreds of clinics. Its intuitive, product-led platform delivers measurable results: 50× revenue growth since Seed, 60 minutes saved per vet per day, 2× ROI versus legacy systems, and onboarding in under a day. The impact is felt most by vets on the ground.

Lupa is launching a Veterinary AI Lab to develop safe, clinically robust AI tools for veterinary care. Led by Mr. Guler (ex-C3.ai) and supported by engineers from DeepMind, Meta AI, and Palantir, the lab will create AI agents spanning reception to diagnosis, publish peer-reviewed research, collaborate with universities and regulators, and help set global standards for ethical AI in petcare.
