How Scarlet is Building a Global AI Certification Body

Scarlet, building a global medical device certification built for AI, led by James Dewar and Jamie Cox, has raised $50m in Series B funding, led by Headline, with participation from existing investors Kindred Capital, Creandum, Atomico, and Entrepreneurs First (EF), and new investor Notion Capital.
Scarlet is accelerating AI medical device certification, helping developers cut a year or more from certification timelines and reduce product-update cycles from months to weeks amid rising demand for AI-enabled medical technology.
Scarlet will use the funding to expand AI medical device certification, grow its expert team, and strengthen its presence in the U.S. and APAC. The company aims to help more innovators bring safe, impactful AI-powered medical technologies to clinicians and patients.
