OnTracx, a wearable technology company to support runners and professionals to avoid running injuries led by Senne Bonnaerens, Rud Derie, Kristof De Mey, Bart Chanet, Mathias Dierickx, Alexandre Van de Vel de Sousa, and Yelizavieta Sharipova, has secured €1.2 million in seed funding from imec.istart fund, PMV, KBC, and a group of business angels combining sports medicine expertise with entrepreneurial experience from Belgium and the Netherlands, complemented by a VLAIO innovation grant.

Instead of promising to eliminate injuries, OnTracx builds tools that make hidden biomechanical load visible, with a unique focus on cumulative load, long seen by experts as critical to improving outcomes. The funding will help OnTracx enhance its wearable sensor and digital platform, scale commercialization, and prepare for market entry in Europe and the U.S.

OnTracx’s lightweight sensor tracks biomechanical load on tendons, muscles, and joints, helping address common overuse injuries in runners. By emphasizing cumulative load over time, the platform supports smarter training and rehab decisions while bridging the needs of runners, therapists, and coaches.

OnTracx measures biomechanical load in daily training, offering a clear view of load and capacity to support safer training and smarter return-to-run decisions. By combining objective data with runner-reported input, it delivers practical insights for physiotherapists, coaches, and other professionals while respecting their expertise.

Launched in April 2024, OnTracx has sold 500+ sensors, partnered with 20 sports medical centers in Belgium, and earned a spot on Under Armour and Deloitte’s 10 Fastest Rising Tech Startups list. The company is now expanding integrations with wearables, apps, and platforms to scale its cumulative load insights.

With 110 million runners worldwide facing overload injuries, OnTracx is helping drive the shift toward load-based insights, empowering runners, professionals, and partners to build safer, more sustainable training and rehab.
