DX, developer intelligence for the AI era, led by Abi Noda, Greyson Junggren, Laura Tacho, Lizzy Rosen, Brook Perry, and Margaret-Anne Storey, has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Atlassian for $1B.

Five years ago, DX was founded on the belief that solving the decades-old challenge of measuring developer productivity required a research-driven approach that blends qualitative and quantitative data. Since then, the company has scaled profitably, tripling annual recurring revenue for several years in a row. Today, DX processes millions of data points daily, delivering actionable insights into developer productivity and experience for leading organizations, including Pinterest, GitHub, BNY, and Xero.

By joining forces with Atlassian, DX gains expanded resources to accelerate growth and R&D, enabling the company to deliver even greater impact for customers worldwide.

Atlassian and DX share the conviction that better developer experience drives better enterprise productivity. With Atlassian already trusted by 85% of the Fortune 500 and expanding its developer toolset with innovations like Bitbucket Pipelines and Rovo Dev, the integration with DX’s intelligence platform creates a transformation flywheel: DX data identifies bottlenecks, and Atlassian’s AI-powered SDLC tools resolve them with precision.

With AI reshaping software development, trusted data is more important than ever to maximize impact. DX joining Atlassian delivers increased R&D resources, faster product development, and deeper integration with Atlassian solutions, while maintaining support for third-party tools. Customers benefit from enhanced measurement and benchmarking, accelerated growth, and a broader community driving AI transformation across the SDLC.
