ChipAgents Expands Series A Funding to $134 Million as Demand Grows for Agentic AI in Semiconductor Design

ChipAgents, the category leader in agentic AI platforms for semiconductor design, led by William Wang and the team, has announced an additional $60 million in Series A2 financing, bringing the expanded round to $134 million just six months after its initial Series A close. The financing reflects continued investor confidence in the company’s commercial momentum, with new investor B Capital joining Bessemer Venture Partners, Micron, MediaTek, Ericsson, ScOp, and other existing investors.


Scaling AI-Powered Semiconductor Design.


The latest financing follows a strong first half of 2026 for ChipAgents, with the company reporting sixfold annual recurring revenue growth and deployments across more than 120 semiconductor companies, including MediaTek and Micron.


The company has positioned its platform as an autonomous AI system for chip design and verification, helping semiconductor teams accelerate complex engineering workflows. The new capital will support broader customer adoption, expansion of engineering and go-to-market teams, and continued development of its AI-native semiconductor design platform.


Founded in 2024, ChipAgents has raised more than $134 million to date as it builds infrastructure aimed at transforming how modern chips are designed and validated.


Industry Leaders Back Autonomous Chip Engineering.


Investors and strategic industry partners highlighted ChipAgents' ability to combine advanced AI research with practical semiconductor engineering applications as a key factor behind their support for the company.


B Capital emphasized the growing complexity of semiconductor design and the need for AI systems capable of executing substantial parts of engineering workflows rather than functioning only as productivity assistants. The firm noted that ChipAgents has moved beyond experimentation by delivering a platform already being deployed in production environments.


Micron highlighted the increasing pressure on semiconductor teams to develop more complex designs within shorter timelines. ChipAgents' platform is focused on automating elements of chip design and verification, helping engineers improve efficiency and accelerate development cycles.


MediaTek's investment arm pointed to the company's role in advancing AI-driven semiconductor workflows, citing its ability to support diverse design processes and deliver measurable improvements in real-world production environments.


Moving Beyond AI Copilots in Chip Design.


ChipAgents is developing domain-specific AI agents designed to automate complex semiconductor design and verification workflows that have traditionally depended heavily on manual engineering processes.


Unlike conventional AI copilots that assist engineers with individual coding tasks, ChipAgents' autonomous agents are designed to plan and execute multi-step engineering workflows independently. The approach aims to reduce development cycles by compressing tasks that previously required weeks or months into significantly shorter timeframes.


The company's AI-native platform enables semiconductor teams to improve engineering productivity by automating advanced design and verification activities. By moving from AI-assisted workflows toward autonomous engineering systems, ChipAgents aims to reduce manual effort, accelerate chip development, and help companies bring increasingly complex semiconductor designs to market faster.
