betacluster Ventures, fueling early-stage smart data startups from the beta phase to worldwide success, led by Florian Steger, Gabriela Brodzińska-Drozd, and Cezary Iwan, has launched betacluster Poland. One, a new early-stage fund under the PFR Starter program with a target capitalisation of €19 million (PLN 81.25 million).
The fund will back technology startups primarily from Poland that are building solutions for the Smart Data Economy, where intelligent data systems, AI, and automation reshape how industries operate, compete, and scale.
The fund’s investor base includes PFR Ventures as the public anchor LP, joined by private investors from Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Poland, a signal of Western Europe’s growing recognition of Poland’s engineering talent and deep-tech capabilities. betacluster Ventures follows a thesis that the next wave of competitive advantage will belong to companies that can collect, secure, and analyze data, train AI models, and convert insights into scalable products.
The fund will build a portfolio of early-stage companies with strong international potential, deploying up to €1 million (PLN 5 million) per startup to validate technology, expand into new markets, or accelerate growth. Most capital will support the earliest-stage teams, those with deep technical foundations developing their first product and go-to-market strategy, while also backing companies that have begun demonstrating initial traction.
betacluster Poland. One will target sectors undergoing rapid AI- and data-driven transformation, including manufacturing, logistics and industry, smart health, fintech, smart cities, business productivity, civil security, and dual-use technologies.
Florian Steger, General Partner at betacluster Ventures, highlights that AI’s impact relies on making data more intelligent, secure, and scalable. The fund aims to help Polish founders turn strong engineering talent into globally competitive companies.
While centered on Poland-based startups, the fund remains open to standout teams across CEE that plan to build significant operations in Poland.
betacluster Poland. One is now in its second fundraising round, targeting €19 million. After an initial close of nearly €14 million, new commitments already cover half of the capital planned for the second close in January 2026.
