Unmind, a mental health platform for organizations, led by Nick Taylor(Co-Founder and CEO), Steve Peralta(Co-Founder and Chief Wellbeing Officer), Amber Coster(COO), and others, raised $35 million in Series C funding to help organizations deliver better mental health support led by TELUS Global Ventures, with continued support from Project A, Felix Capital, and Sapphire Ventures, bringing total funding to $82 million to date.
Mental health is now a board-level priority. With $1 trillion in productivity lost annually and 12 billion workdays missed due to anxiety and depression, burnout is the top workforce risk. Yet, happier teams drive better outcomes—Oxford research shows the happiest firms outperform major indices by 20%, with even small increases in happiness tied to billions in profit gains.
Unmind is advancing in three key areas following its latest investment. First, its AI companion Nova is delivering instant, stigma-free support for challenges like stress and sleep, with usage up 92% and retention more than triple the industry average. When needed, users are seamlessly connected to human therapists and coaches. Second, Unmind’s platform links mental health to measurable business outcomes, offering leaders insights into workforce wellbeing through clinical data, AI analytics, and productivity metrics. Results include a 10–15% productivity boost, up to $13,200 in annual ROI per employee, and a recent deployment that delivered a $1M uplift and 3.49x ROI. Finally, Unmind is expanding globally, with a focus on the U.S. market under new Chief Revenue Officer Laura Moniz de Aragao, who joins from BetterUp to lead commercial growth and deepen strategic partnerships.
