Timefold, developing vehicle routing and shift scheduling APIs for field service and workforce management, led by Maarten Vandenbroucke, Geoffrey De Smet, and the team, has raised a $13M Series A funding round led by Alstin Capital, with co-investor Kompas VC, and continued backing from existing investors Lakestar and Smartfin

Timefold provides scheduling and optimization infrastructure for field service and workforce management software. Following 4x ARR growth in 2025, the company is using the new funding to expand in the U.S. and meet growing enterprise demand.

According to Maarten Vandenbroucke, CEO of Timefold, optimization is becoming a foundational layer of enterprise software as workflows become increasingly autonomous. Timefold enables software teams to embed enterprise-grade scheduling intelligence into their applications, improving outcomes for businesses, workers, and customers.

Scheduling Optimization for the AI Builder Era.

As AI agents become more capable of generating schedules, ensuring those schedules work reliably in real-world environments remains a challenge. Timefold combines AI with deterministic optimization algorithms to solve complex scheduling problems at scale, enabling automated decisions around technician assignments, shift planning, workforce availability, and operational disruptions.

The platform is particularly valuable in field service operations, where organizations must balance technician skills, service-level agreements, labor regulations, travel times, customer preferences, and real-time changes. By embedding optimization directly into software applications, Timefold helps teams create schedules that are efficient, compliant, and resilient.

Freeing the World from Wasteful Scheduling.

Timefold’s optimization platform is designed to handle complex scheduling environments at scale, helping organizations improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations. Customers have reported significant reductions in travel time, distance traveled, overtime, and scheduling workloads through the use of Timefold’s routing and workforce scheduling solutions.

Enterprise organizations, including NEC Software Solutions, CBRE, Orange Telecom, ADP, and Lufthansa, use the platform to power operational workflows where scheduling efficiency directly affects profitability, customer experience, and workforce productivity.

According to Kay Aston of NEC Software Solutions, Timefold provided a practical way to introduce advanced planning and optimization capabilities into real-world operations, helping accelerate deployment while delivering measurable business value.

Scheduling as a Foundational Component.

Timefold sees scheduling optimization becoming a core layer of software infrastructure in the AI era. As AI lowers the barriers to building applications, the company aims to provide the platform that enables software teams to build, deploy, and operate scheduling models capable of solving complex operational challenges at scale.

According to Alexander Meyer-Scharenberg, Partner at Alstin Capital, mission-critical scheduling requires correctness, compliance, and consistency rather than the probabilistic outputs associated with large language models. Timefold’s approach combines proven optimization technology with easy-to-deploy products, making advanced scheduling capabilities accessible to enterprises without requiring specialized operations research expertise.
