SwitchOn, an AI-powered quality inspection for manufacturers, led by Aniruddha Banerjee, Avra Banerjee, and Neil Lasrado, has raised $8M (Rs 78Cr) in a Pre-Series B funding round led by IvyCap Ventures, with participation from SIG Tattva and Trifecta Capital.

The Bengaluru-based Physical AI startup will use the funding to accelerate global expansion and advance zero-defect manufacturing for Fortune 500 customers, including Unilever, Bosch, and Maruti Suzuki. Its AI-powered quality inspection technology is already deployed across more than 170 production lines spanning four continents.

SwitchOn, co-founded by Aniruddha Banerjee and Avra Banerjee, brings together deep expertise in computer vision, IoT, and AI from global technology companies including Nvidia, Samsung Electronics, and Schneider Electric. Since deploying its first production systems in 2021, the company has scaled into a global Physical AI platform, integrating AI directly into manufacturing environments across CPG, electronics, automotive, and pharma industries.

Its flagship platform, DeepInspect, uses edge-based computer vision to detect surface defects with sub-150-micron precision at speeds exceeding 1,200 products per minute, achieving over 99% detection accuracy while helping reduce quality costs by up to 50%.

SwitchOn is trusted by leading manufacturers including Unilever, Bosch, Maruti Suzuki, and ALPA, with deployments across more than 170 production lines and 60+ manufacturing facilities spanning four continents. The company’s funding journey, from a $1.1 million seed round to a $4.2 million Series A and an $8 million Pre-Series B, reflects sustained investor confidence and continued execution in the Physical AI market. SwitchOn’s platform supports India’s manufacturing ambitions by helping domestic manufacturers achieve global quality standards through locally developed AI technology.

“SwitchOn’s vision is focused on transforming manufacturing quality through Physical AI. For decades, quality inspection has remained largely manual, but AI-powered systems can enable a new era of autonomous quality intelligence. This funding will help scale the platform and accelerate the mission of making zero-defect manufacturing achievable across factory floors worldwide.”

— Aniruddha Banerjee, Co-Founder, SwitchOn

Industry and investment leaders highlighted SwitchOn’s strong technology foundation, industrial execution, and global growth potential.

Vikram Gupta, Founder & Managing Partner at IvyCap Ventures, noted that SwitchOn is building a globally relevant Physical AI platform addressing a critical manufacturing challenge, with the technology, execution, and customer traction needed to lead the next phase of industrial AI innovation.

Shashvat Somany, Founder of SIG Tattva, emphasized that the future of manufacturing will be driven by smarter factories, with Physical AI transforming traditionally manual processes like quality inspection. He highlighted SwitchOn’s combination of deep technology and production-scale deployment as a key differentiator.

Abhijit Joshi, Director of Venture Debt at Trifecta Capital, pointed to the founders’ technical expertise, ability to scale both product and business operations, and the company’s IP-driven defect detection capabilities as factors positioning SwitchOn to become a global quality solutions platform.
