Emergent, an AI app builder that turns your ideas into monetizable software, led by Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha, has closed a $130 million Series C. Creaegis led the round, with MNI Ventures - Claypond Capital and Sentinel Global as co-leads and participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator. The round values Emergent at $1.5 billion and brings the total funding to $230 million.
A year after its public launch, Emergent has grown its valuation fivefold while surpassing 12 million applications built on the platform. Much of this growth has been driven by first-time builders with little or no prior coding experience. This milestone reflects the platform’s rapid adoption and outlines the next phase of Emergent’s growth and vision.
Driving Adoption Through Accessibility.
Since launch, more than 12 million applications have been built on Emergent, with over half supporting business-critical operations. Around 70% of users have no prior coding experience, highlighting the platform’s focus on enabling non-technical entrepreneurs and small businesses to create custom software without relying on traditional development resources or off-the-shelf SaaS solutions.
The Problem Emergent Is Solving.
Emergent is tackling one of the biggest obstacles to software creation: limited access to engineering talent. As businesses increasingly rely on custom software to operate and grow, traditional development remains costly, time-consuming, and dependent on specialized expertise.
By leveraging agentic AI, Emergent enables entrepreneurs and businesses to build production-grade software faster and at a lower cost, regardless of technical background. The platform aims to democratize software development, allowing domain experts and small businesses to create, automate, and scale the tools they need without relying on traditional development teams.
What Comes Next?
Emergent is advancing a future where software development is accessible to the people closest to the problem. By reducing technical barriers, the platform enables entrepreneurs, small businesses, and non-technical founders to build custom software, automate operations, and bring new ideas to market without relying on traditional engineering resources. The goal is to make software creation faster, more accessible, and driven by domain expertise rather than coding experience.
