Sales Tax Automation Platform Numeral Acquires Ruby Card

Numeral, a sales tax automation platform founded by Sam Ross and Matt DuVall, acquired the team behind Ruby Card, the all-in-one finance and banking platform. Co-founders Shariar Kabir, Jordan Yaqoob, and Miguel Acero have joined Numeral post-acquisition and will work to accelerate the global and SaaS offerings.

Numeral handles sales tax for over 1,500 leading e-commerce and SaaS brands, guaranteeing on-time filing—or covering any penalties and interest if not.

A $5M ecommerce brand typically owes sales tax in over 30 states, navigating nearly 10,000 jurisdictions—while software companies face even more complexity, often selling globally from day one. (Numeral supports over 55 countries.) With a recent Series A from Benchmark, there's still much to build. Shariar, Jordan, and Miguel are joining the engineering team to expand global capabilities, integrations, and the core tax engine.
