Neko Health, building a completely new healthcare experience led by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek, has announced the completion of its $700 million Series C funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and co-led by O.G. Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Atomico, General Catalyst and Lakestar, alongside new backers including Liberty City Ventures, Positive Sum, and BDT & MSD. As part of the round, David Ofer of O.G. Venture Partners will join the Board of Directors, subject to regulatory approval. The fundraise follows a $260m Series B in January 2025.
“Neko Health has combined breakthrough technology, strong consumer demand, and rapid execution to address one of the world’s largest healthcare opportunities,” said Bejul Somaia, Global Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners. “We believe Neko is positioned to become one of the defining healthcare companies of its generation as it reimagines preventive care.”
“The founding team’s vision to make advanced healthcare accessible on a global scale is truly ambitious,” said Eyal Ofer of O.G. Venture Partners. “Hjalmar, Daniel, and the team have demonstrated exceptional execution and the ability to transform that vision into reality.”
The funding round also saw participation from Ari Emanuel, Claudia Schiffer and Sir Matthew Vaughn, Danny Meyer, Jimmy Iovine, Maria Sharapova, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, Thierry Henry, Tim Ferriss and will.i.am, joining existing investors including Alexis Ohanian from Seven Seven Six, Alex Tew and Michael Acton-Smith from Calm, Gary Vaynerchuk, Jessie Inchauspé, Katie Haun, Raj Shamani, Steven Bartlett, Zoë Saldaña and Marco Perego-Saldaña.
“For more than two decades, I’ve tracked health and performance metrics, but the process has remained expensive, complex, and fragmented,” said Tim Ferriss, bestselling author of The 4-Hour Body. “Neko brings simplicity to preventive healthcare by delivering a detailed view of an individual’s biology in under an hour, combined with expert medical guidance. Its ability to make advanced health insights accessible at scale is what sets it apart.”
Neko’s flagship offering, the Neko Health Scan, is a 60-minute, non-invasive health assessment that captures millions of data points using proprietary sensors and blood analysis. The radiation-free scan evaluates areas including skin health, biomarkers, blood abnormalities, and risk factors linked to conditions such as metabolic syndrome, stroke, and heart disease.
Members receive results within minutes, followed by an in-person consultation with a medical professional to provide personalized insights and actionable health recommendations. The scan is priced at £299 in the UK and 2,750 SEK in Sweden.
Neko Health continues to expand its technology platform with new scan capabilities, including body composition analysis and clinician review of wearable data across all clinics. These upgrades provide members with deeper health insights while supporting Neko’s broader approach of continuous innovation through its vertically integrated technology stack.
The company develops its hardware, software, and consumer experience in-house, allowing it to improve the platform faster and maintain control over the full healthcare journey. Neko recently opened a new Stockholm clinic featuring next-generation devices, including Derma-2, Echo-2, and Spectrum-2, designed to capture more detailed health signals across skin, heart, and circulation. The upgraded hardware will roll out across all clinics in the coming months.
“This funding is a strong validation of our mission to build a new healthcare experience focused on prevention, early detection, and keeping people healthier for longer,” said Hjalmar Nilsonne, Co-founder and CEO of Neko Health. “The next phase will see us expand into the US while continuing to invest in the research and technology needed to make preventive healthcare scalable. The strongest proof comes from our members, with the majority returning for follow-up scans and showing improvements in key health markers.”
Neko Health’s expansion comes as healthcare systems increasingly shift from treating illness to preventing disease. In both the UK and US, policymakers and employers are placing greater focus on proactive health management, particularly as chronic diseases continue to drive the majority of healthcare costs.
Since launching in 2023, Neko Health has expanded across Sweden and the UK, with clinics in cities including London, Manchester, and Birmingham. More than 350,000 people have registered for a Neko Health Scan, with over 100,000 members already completing one. Around 75% of members book and prepay a follow-up scan for the following year after their appointment.
The company reports that early detection is driving measurable improvements among returning members, with many individuals showing improved control of previously identified health risks and statistically significant improvements across key biomarkers between their first and second scans.
