Nebex, building the exchange for the global space economy, led by Tejpaul Bhatia, Anand Subramanian, and the team, has raised a $30M seed investment led by GV (Google Ventures), with participation from other top-tier venture funds. The company also announced a banking relationship with J.P. Morgan.
The funding and new banking partnership will support Nebex's expansion, enabling the platform to better connect sovereign space programs with the founders and companies developing the next generation of space technologies.
According to CEO Tejpaul Bhatia, Nebex was founded to address a critical gap in the space industry: the lack of capital markets infrastructure that enables founders to finance and deliver complex sovereign programs. Backing from the new investors and banking partner is expected to strengthen the financial foundation needed to support the growth of the global space economy.
The traditional space industry has long been dominated by a small group of contractors serving government programs. As access to orbit expands, that model is giving way to a more open and competitive global space economy.
Nebex helps founders focus on building technology rather than managing the cash-flow challenges of government contracting. For governments, the platform reduces cross-border financial friction, enables greater international collaboration, and helps ensure investment is reinvested within domestic space ecosystems.
According to Erik Nordlander, General Partner at GV, commercial space requires financial infrastructure that can scale alongside the industry itself. He described Nebex as building the financial backbone needed to unlock the next phase of the global space economy, highlighting CEO Tejpaul Bhatia's experience navigating the complexities of the space sector.
Founded in late 2025 by former Axiom Space CEO Tejpaul Bhatia, Nebex is led by a team with deep expertise across commercial space, technology, and government. Bhatia, who has led more than $1 billion in commercial space deals, is joined by Anand Subramanian, founder of venture-backed companies ContextWeb and NimbleTV, and Manlio Di Stefano, former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
According to J.P. Morgan, the space economy is approaching a major inflection point, with companies like Nebex building the financial infrastructure needed to expand access and accelerate innovation across the commercial space ecosystem.
