Motive Secures More Than $1.3 Billion to Scale AI Across Physical Operations

Motive, building AI that makes your operations safer and more efficient, led by Shoaib Makani and the team, secured more than $1.3 billion in growth financing from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund (CVF). Pranav Singhvi, Managing Director at General Catalyst, joins Motive’s Board of Directors.
The funding will support further development of the AI platform, expansion of go-to-market teams, and growth across the world’s largest and most complex organizations.
“Motive is building the intelligence layer for the physical economy,” said Shoaib Makani, co-founder and CEO of Motive. “AI that can see what’s happening on the road and in the field, understand what matters, and take action. For our customers, that means preventing collisions, avoiding downtime, and eliminating manual work.”
“The physical AI market, and edge AI specifically, represents one of the most compelling long-term opportunities we see today,” said Singhvi. “Motive is at the forefront of that, with the market-leading platform that puts AI to work in the field, on the road, and on the job site in ways that deliver immediate, tangible ROI to customers.”
The funding will also support Motive’s go-to-market expansion under President, Go-to-Market Thomas Hansen, who joined earlier this year after senior leadership roles at Amplitude, Dropbox, and Microsoft.
Nearly 100,000 customers use Motive, ranging from Fortune 500 enterprises to small businesses. The financing will help the company reach more fleet operators and expand its services to existing customers.
