HyImpulse Secures Over €50 Million to Scale Commercial Suborbital and Orbital Launch Operations and Strengthen Europe’s Sovereign Access to Space

HyImpulse, a leading European launch services company developing and providing suborbital and orbital launch capabilities based on a proprietary propulsion technology, led by Dr. Christian Schmierer, Dr. Mario Kobald, Konstantin Tomilin, and Ulrich Fischer, has announced a Series A Extension financing of more than €50 million in equity, co-led by JOIN Capital and Ace Capital Partners, with participation from new investors, including North Ventures, BW-Capital, Bayern Kapital and the German Aerospace Center (DLR), alongside continued support from existing shareholders including Campus Founders Ventures. It brings the company’s total equity and public funding to more than €125 million.

The funding will accelerate HyImpulse’s launch services portfolio, including a second SR75 launch from SaxaVord Spaceport by the end of 2026 and the maiden flight of its SL1 launch vehicle. The capital will also expand production capacity, scale commercial operations across Europe and beyond, and support growth in dedicated satellite launches, in-space mobility, and suborbital research and defence applications.

Building Europe’s Independent Access to Space.

HyImpulse operates the SR75 commercial suborbital platform and is preparing for its next launch from SaxaVord Spaceport in Scotland, following its inaugural 2024 flight campaign at the Koonibba Test Range in South Australia.

The SR75 and broader suborbital roadmap target speeds of up to Mach 15 and ranges of up to 10,000 kilometres, serving growing demand for hypersonic testing, threat simulation, and suborbital flight services across government, research, and defence markets.

The global commercial launch services market is expected to reach $32 billion by 2035, with additional growth opportunities in suborbital and responsive launch services. HyImpulse is capitalizing on rising demand for independent launch capabilities, with an order book exceeding €350 million across its suborbital and orbital programs. The new financing will support further commercial expansion and technological development.
