Wave Function Ventures, a Deep-Tech venture fund founded by Jamie Gull, has raised $15.1 million for its first fund. Gull has made nine investments in startups that span industries like nuclear energy (Deep Fission), humanoid robotics (Persona AI), and, of course, aerospace (Airship Industries).
Wave Function Ventures expects to do about 25 seed or pre-seed investments out of this fund. Wave Function Ventures backs founders at the earliest stage, even a spark of an idea, who are building transformative technologies in the physical world. The firm’s mission is to fuel breakthroughs that advance humanity and create abundance.
Jamie, a former SpaceX engineer who worked on Falcon 9 reentry and Falcon Heavy structures, has co-founded two deep tech companies, including Talyn Air. Talyn went through Y Combinator, secured multiple Air Force contracts, and was acquired by Ampaire. With firsthand founder experience, Jamie guides new entrepreneurs through the critical early stages of building a company.
