Contrario, the AI-powered recruitment platform, led by founders Arya Marwaha and Aditya Sood, has announced its launch.
Contrario has surpassed $6M in annualized revenue in under six months, paid out over $1M to its recruiter network, and is now used by 200+ fast-growing companies, including unicorns like Slash and Wispr Flow.
The company is focused on using AI to automate repetitive parts of hiring, enabling recruiters and companies to focus more on high-value, human aspects of recruitment.
The recruiting category has evolved over the past 15 years from ATS systems and sourcing tools that improved speed, but did not fundamentally change how hiring works.
That phase is ending as AI introduces memory and judgment into recruiting workflows, enabling systems to understand hiring context, candidate fit, and long-term talent patterns across roles and companies.
Contrario is already seeing early adoption of this shift, with agents involved in ~30% of recent hires and recruiters earning significantly more through automated workflows that remove repetitive sourcing, scheduling, and follow-ups, allowing more focus on relationship-building and high-signal decision-making.
The agent-native recruiter era reframes recruiters as relationship managers, closer to sports agents, with AI agents continuously handling sourcing, coordination, and follow-ups in the background.
For companies, an intelligence layer develops beneath hiring, learning from every decision to understand hiring standards, successful candidate patterns, and operational pace, eventually building a deep institutional model of the organization.
Contrario is working toward a hiring system where pipelines persist across roles and time, candidates retain context across career moves, and recruiters enter conversations with system-level intelligence already in place.
