Comper, a software intelligence platform helping teams instantly understand, navigate, and collaborate inside complex code landscapes, led by Jouke Waleson, Juan Uijtewaal, Melanie L. Argento, and Amédée d'Aboville, has announced the close of its pre-seed round led by Productfirst.
Comper is reimagining how engineering, product, and leadership teams collaborate by making codebases visible, explorable, and shareable across organizations. Often described as a “Figma for codebases,” the platform accelerates onboarding, improves decision-making, and strengthens software development at scale.
Comper originated as an internal CTO visibility tool and evolved into a platform for technical and non-technical teams. As AI accelerates software development, understanding complex codebases has become increasingly critical. Comper aims to remove the codebase “black box” and provide shared clarity across engineering organizations.
The investment from Productfirst will support Comper’s product development, early customer traction, and team expansion.
Perry Oostdam highlighted Comper’s ability to provide immediate clarity into complex, evolving codebases, noting strong conviction in both the product and the founding team. The rapid investment decision reflected confidence in the platform’s relevance for scaling organizations.
Pawel Smoczyk emphasized that engineering risk often stems from a lack of shared system understanding rather than poor code quality. Comper was highlighted for addressing this gap by providing a clear, shared view of software architecture and team structure, rather than relying on additional documentation.
Comper was incorporated in fall 2025 after a year in stealth by experienced founders with backgrounds in high-growth technology companies, where codebase complexity impacted velocity, quality, and team health. With new funding, the company is expanding its early access program and deepening collaboration with product-led teams managing rapidly scaling codebases.
