Led by Dr. Christoph Gebald(CEO And Founder), Dr. Jan Wurzbacher(CEO And Founder), Andreas Aepli(Chief Financial Officer), Douglas Chan(COO And US GM), Helin Cox(CTO), Dr. Christian Ferber(Chief HR Officer), Ann-Kristin Koch(Chief COM & Branding Officer), Adrian Siegrist(Chief Commercial Officer), and Daniel Nathan(Chief Project Development Officer), Climeworks has raised $162 Million led by BigPoint Holding and Partners Group, with additional backing mainly from other existing investors. The Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology pioneer's total funding surpassed $1 billion, with the recent round being the largest carbon removal investment of 2025 to date globally.
Climeworks will use the new funding to further reduce the cost of carbon removal through continued development of its direct air capture (DAC) technology. After validating its approach with Orca and advancing large-scale testing with Mammoth, the company has achieved key breakthroughs—doubling energy efficiency, increasing throughput, and extending filter lifespan—all critical steps toward operating the world’s first profitable DAC plant.
Climeworks will use the funding to expand its carbon removal portfolio, offering tailored, blended solutions that help companies scale investments and manage risk. With over 6 million tons of supply secured, Climeworks is positioned as the leading provider of both near-term and long-term removal options in a market projected to reach $80B by 2030 and $1T by 2050.
