Founded by self-taught programmer Bereket Engida, Better Auth has raised $5 Million led by Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & SEA), with participation from Y Combinator, Chapter One, P1 Ventures, and a group of incredible investors and angels.

The mission from the beginning has been clear: make developer-owned authentication simple, powerful, and the default path—not a risky workaround. It started with the framework, and strong community momentum has validated the need.

Now, with fresh funding, the team is expanding efforts to go beyond the framework—building out the core infrastructure developers need: a unified dashboard for users and insights, enterprise-level fraud and abuse protection, built-in auth messaging and globally distributed session storage.
