Array Labs Raises Additional $21M, Anchored by Strategic Investment from Mitsubishi Electric

Array Labs, designing, building, and operating the world’s most advanced radar satellites, led by Andrew Peterson and Jose Isaac Robledo, has raised $21 million in an oversubscribed strategic investment round, anchored by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, one of Japan's largest defense and aerospace companies, with continued participation from Catapult Ventures, Kompas VC, and Y Combinator. As part of the financing, Array Labs and Mitsubishi Electric have entered into a partnership to develop and bring to market satellite-based airborne tracking services for defense and mainly security customers in the Asia Pacific Region.

Array Labs says the new funding will help accelerate the delivery of satellite intelligence capabilities for defense and intelligence customers. The company views strong investor demand, including backing from Mitsubishi Electric, as validation of the growing need for advanced space-based data solutions.

Traditional satellites provide periodic snapshots of Earth, but Array Labs is building a new approach for continuous, real-time understanding of the planet. Its distributed radar satellite architecture uses clusters of smaller, mass-manufacturable satellites working together as a single sensor to track movement, activity, and change across land, air, and sea.

By combining formation-flying satellites, advanced signal processing, and modern manufacturing techniques, Array aims to deliver persistent monitoring capabilities with greater coverage, resolution, and affordability than traditional space systems. The platform is designed to enable applications including 3D and 2D imaging, maritime and airborne tracking, and space situational awareness, with technology already validated through contracts with DARPA, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force.

Array Labs is partnering with Mitsubishi Electric to accelerate the deployment of space-based moving target detection and tracking capabilities for defense and security applications. The partnership combines Array’s distributed radar satellite technology with Mitsubishi Electric’s decades of experience in aerospace, defense systems, manufacturing, and regional customer relationships.

Together, the companies aim to bring advanced space-based monitoring capabilities to defense and government customers, enabling more persistent awareness of activity across air, maritime, and other operational environments.
