Oura, maker of the most trusted smart ring, Oura Ring, led by Tom Hale, Michael Chapp, Sean Brecker, Judy Gilbert, Holly Shelton, Doug Sweeny, and others, has secured over $900 million in funding led by Fidelity Management & Research Company with significant participation from new investor ICONIQ and contributions from Whale Rock and Atreides, valuing the company at around $11 billion. ŌURA announced David Shuman, founder of Lateralus Holdings and Oura board member since 2016, as its new Chair of the Board.
ŌURA will utilize the new funding to accelerate AI-driven innovation, expand its global reach, and develop new health features, thereby strengthening its leadership in proactive health. The raise follows rapid growth, over 5.5 million rings sold since 2015, with half in the past year alone, and revenue exceeding $500M in 2024, set to surpass $1B in 2025.
ŌURA’s new funding highlights the strength of its business and the trust of millions of members. The company is building more than a product; it is fostering a global movement toward proactive health, helping people understand their bodies, make better lifestyle decisions, and connect more effectively with healthcare providers. Its technology supports consumers, employers, insurers, and clinicians in advancing preventive health at scale. The investment will accelerate innovation, expand global reach, and set a new standard for what wearables can achieve in preventive health.
The company plans to expand its board with the nomination of Wen Hsieh, founding managing partner at Matter Venture Partners. An electrical engineer by training, Hsieh brings deep HardTech investing experience and domain expertise, having served as a managing partner at Kleiner Perkins and as chairman of the board at Ambiq Micro.
The company recently expanded its product line with the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic in new colors, its first hardware accessory, the Oura Ring 4 Charging Case, and Health Panels, a first-of-its-kind feature that lets members schedule and view lab test results directly in the Oura App. These launches highlight ŌURA’s growing role as a preventive health platform, providing scalable, data-driven wellness solutions that link everyday insights to long-term health outcomes for individuals, employers, and insurers.
