ZaiNar, building the foundation layer for physical AI, led by Daniel Jacker, Alexander Hooshmand, Eric Roselli, Philip Kratz, Jake Levy, and the team, has announced commercial availability of its 5G positioning technology, the first 5G location system that operates entirely independent of device makers, using the network as a sensor (i.e., connectivity signals that devices already transmit) to deliver sub-10cm accuracy at ranges up to 1.5km.

The network-side solution delivers sub-10cm accuracy using existing connectivity signals, requiring no device software, dedicated positioning hardware, or additional battery consumption.

Operating on as little as 10 MHz of spectrum, ZaiNar is the only 5G positioning system designed for bandwidth-constrained private 5G and low-power IoT networks, environments where precise location services can exceed the value of connectivity itself.

Sub-10cm positioning is now moving from theory to real-world deployment. Proven accuracy across healthcare, construction, logistics, and smart city environments is transforming 5G from a high-speed connectivity layer into foundational infrastructure for Physical AI.

Submeter location capabilities unlock the potential of Physical AI, positioning telecommunications providers as a critical data layer for real-time coordination and training grounded in real-world 2D and 3D vectors. Enterprise applications span traffic management, advertising, logistics, and healthcare.

The solution outperforms alternatives and operates across both WiFi and 5G networks, including wide-area carrier infrastructure and private deployments. The scale of the opportunity has also attracted strategic leadership support at the board level.

A New Utility for 5G

Traditional 5G positioning relies on PRS and PSRS signals sent once per second, limiting real-time tracking. ZaiNar instead uses standard connectivity signals (SRS) transmitted hundreds of times per second, enabling precise tracking of fast-moving assets.

Operating systems from Apple and Google typically restrict dedicated positioning signals, limiting carrier control. By shifting positioning to the network layer through mandatory SRS signals, carriers gain direct access to sub-10cm location data without device permissions, enhancing efficiency, security, and overall 5G utility.

Proven Performance

ZaiNar has demonstrated sub-10cm accuracy on CBRS Band 48 networks using just 20 MHz of spectrum, along with a 1.5 km read range and zero additional battery drain on tracked devices.

Across 5G cellular and alternative modalities, including GPS RTK, Ultra-wideband (UWB), WiFi, Bluetooth, and RFID, the system delivers industry-leading positioning performance.

Why It Matters

Accurate indoor and outdoor positioning has long remained out of reach despite heavy 5G investment. GPS fails indoors, existing 5G delivers only meter-level precision, and alternatives face range, latency, or line-of-sight limits.

By extracting data from standard connectivity signals and using sub-nanosecond synchronization, ZaiNar achieves centimeter-level accuracy,  without new hardware, software, or battery drain.

What Is Physical AI?

Physical AI operates in the real world, powering robots, vehicles, drones, and connected systems, and depends on continuous, highly accurate location data to coordinate movement in three-dimensional space.

Achieving sub-meter precision in real time without adding device hardware or software has been the core challenge. ZaiNar addresses this by delivering precise positioning directly through the network layer.

5G Networks as Physical AI Infrastructure

ZaiNar transforms 5G networks into spatial infrastructure for Physical AI by embedding AI and location sensing directly into the network, creating a real-time sensing platform with continuous spatial awareness.

For robotics, sub-meter indoor accuracy and network-level positioning reduce reliance on GPS, cameras, and SLAM, while offloading compute from devices to the network. The result is real-time coordination across robots, workers, and equipment, enabling scalable autonomous and swarm intelligence.

Commercial Momentum

ZaiNar’s technology is commercially deployed across healthcare, construction, smart city, and industrial sectors on multiple continents. The company has secured over $450 million in contracts and memoranda of understanding, with major carrier and enterprise partnerships expected to be announced soon.
