Led by Diana Virgovicova(Founder & CEO), Kerem Topalismailoglu(Founder & CTO), and Shirley Zhong(COO), Xatoms secures $3 Million in pre-seed funding of which $2 Million is in VC funding and $1 million cumulative non-dilutive funding received to date, as mentioned by Xatoms here. The round was led by Quantacet, with backing from Genesis Ventures, BDC’s Thrive Lab, and key supporters like League of Innovators, BoxOne Ventures, and angels including Viral Nation’s Joe Gagliese and Resonance’s co-founders Evan Kubes and Alex Challans.
Xatoms uses AI and quantum chemistry to discover novel materials for water purification. Its breakthrough material removes pathogens, chemicals, and heavy metals in just 30 minutes using only sunlight or LED light—no heavy infrastructure required—making it ideal for remote, underserved, or industrial areas.
Xatoms has earned global recognition, including Forbes 30 Under 30 North America 2025, the 776 Climate Fellowship, the TiE50 Award, and SXSW Innovative World Tech. It was also selected for Google for Startups' AI for Nature Accelerator to help shape the future of climate tech.
