Upwind's Next Phase of Growth.
Upwind’s Series C follows years of product development, customer collaboration, and steady execution while competing with some of the world’s largest technology companies.
The company credits its customers and partners for helping build the business, with the latest investment bringing total funding to more than $800 million. The capital will accelerate efforts to help organizations address growing cloud and AI security risks, while strengthening Upwind’s position as one of the world’s most well-capitalized companies focused on cloud and AI security.
Expanding Security Across the AI Ecosystem.
Upwind is expanding its security approach beyond traditional cloud environments to cover the full enterprise AI landscape, from endpoints and AI agents to code and cloud infrastructure. This includes AI Sensors, agent and skills scanners, and a redesigned inventory graph.
The company is also deploying AI to counter AI-driven threats through three security agents:
Blue Agent: Correlates logs and security data to investigate attacks, identify exploitation attempts, and respond at runtime.
Red Agent: Tests vulnerabilities and exposures to determine whether they are genuinely exploitable, helping teams prioritize real risks.
Green Agent: Identifies critical remediation opportunities and helps resolve thousands of security findings and resources at scale.
Upwind has also established AI Labs for Cybersecurity, focused on four areas: AI Security; Agentic Security; Frontier Models, Systems and Benchmarks; and Advanced AI Systems. The initiative aims to develop capabilities for emerging security challenges through dedicated talent, infrastructure and research.
The company says it remains committed to the execution speed that has driven its growth, with customers already seeing operational improvements from its platform.
“Upwind gave us visibility into what is actually running, not just what a scan found. That changed which risks we spend our time on.” – Michael Cannizzo, CISO @ HedgeServ
“The speed of execution is something that we never saw anywhere else. The setup only took days. What stood out after that was visibility into live workloads rather than a snapshot, and that redirected where our team spends effort.” – Russ Kirby, CISO of Ping Identity
