Superpanel, a digital teammate custom-built for legal intake, led by Julien Emery and Dingyu Zhang, has announced its launch with $5.3 million in funding co-led by Outlander VC and Field Ventures. Other participating investors include LOI Venture, Zenda Capital, 8-Bit Capital, and Behind Genius Ventures. The funding will accelerate hiring and expand the product’s capabilities.

Founders Julien Emery and Dingyu Zhang bring experience in scaling customer platforms and deploying enterprise AI. Emery helped build Hootsuite and later sold a SaaS underwriting startup, while Zhang developed conversational AI systems handling millions of transactions and winning enterprise deals against Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.

Despite generating tens of billions annually, plaintiff firms lose strong cases as manual intake struggles with rising inquiry volumes and staffing shortages. Superpanel applies AI to legal intake, enabling firms to scale while maintaining consistency and oversight.

Superpanel offers a coachable digital teammate that manages intake end-to-end, from first contact through qualification and document collection. Purpose-built for legal, it applies firm-specific logic, with built-in safeguards to ensure compliance, auditability, and human escalation when needed. Qualified cases are then handed to staff to focus on client relationships and closing, freeing teams from repetitive work.

In private beta, Superpanel shifted over 50% of intake workload to its digital teammate, enabling staff to focus on high-value conversations. More than 95% of workflows are completed without early human intervention, with full oversight and auditability. The platform has already supported 150,000+ people in sharing their stories and getting cases evaluated. Law firms now treat Superpanel as a true team member, appearing in dashboards, staffing budgets, and even performance bonuses, while handling up to 5x more inquiries without adding headcount.
