Space Forge Inc. and United Semiconductors LLC Join Forces to Build a Supply Chain for Space-Grown Semiconductor Materials

Space Forge, the advanced materials company revolutionizing semiconductor manufacturing in space, led by Joshua Western and Andrew, has partnered with United Semiconductors to develop the Supply Chain for Space-Grown Semiconductor Materials for Quantum Computing, Power Electronics, Sensors, and display markets.
The partnership lays the groundwork for commercially viable in-space semiconductor manufacturing, combining Space Forge’s microgravity-enabled materials deposition with United Semiconductors’ expertise in III-V crystal growth and wafer processing.
Under the MoU, Space Forge will develop advanced materials deposition processes and integrate systems with its ForgeStar platform, while United Semiconductors will provide crystal growth expertise, design specialized in-space equipment, select suitable materials, and handle wafer processing and testing. Together, their complementary capabilities aim to accelerate joint projects and deliver solutions for end customers.
The collaboration taps into the rising momentum of commercial space manufacturing, targeting the growing demand for ultra-high-quality semiconductor substrates in quantum computing, telecommunications, and advanced electronics. By defining clear development pathways and market applications, the Space Forge–United Semiconductors partnership seeks to prove the commercial viability of space-based semiconductor production. In the coming months, the companies will develop specific project frameworks with strategic long-term customers.
