Led by Nicolas M(CEO), Ambroise Muller(CSO), and Eliott Sarrey(CTO), Arago has raised $26 million, co-led by Earlybird, Protagonist, and Visionaries Tomorrow, with participation from Generative IQ and C4 Ventures, among others. The round also includes investment from prominent angel investors, including Bertrand Serlet (former VP at Apple and co-founder of Fungible), Christophe Frey (GM at Arm), Olivier Pomel (co-founder of Datadog), Thomas Wolf (co-founder of Hugging Face), and Jack Abraham (co-founder of Exowatt), among others, as reported in tech.eu.
Arago is redefining AI acceleration with a photonic chip that uses light, not transistors, to compute, delivering higher throughput and energy efficiency. Designed to break past the limits of traditional silicon, it enables faster, cheaper, and greener AI deployment.
Arago’s photonic AI accelerator delivers 10×–30× energy savings and multi-PetaOp/s performance by enabling thousands of operations per byte. Designed for high-throughput tensor processing, it reduces compute costs and supports future 3D systems. The CARLOTA® software stack integrates with PyTorch, letting developers scale models without code changes.
