The Era of AI-Based Search Engine is Here. Perplexity has recorded 780 Million Queries in May, as stated by the founder Arvind Srinivas in Bloomberg Tech Summit. The engine is seeing a 20% growth month-on-month.
The company plans to scale towards a Billion queries daily by next year, growing at a staggering rate.
Perplexity is devoted to building browser-based AI agent Comet to seamlessly get the tasks done. They believe Comet will be more like a Cognitive Operating System than just another web browser. The company plans to design Comet to be more like a browsing partner to search, act, and get things done on the internet.
Perplexity is developing its own browser to track user activity beyond its own app so that it can sell premium ads, which would essentially mirror what Google quietly did to become the giant it is today, as stated by Arvind.
