Neko Health Opens Its Doors In New York

Neko Health, which designs and engineers its own hardware, software, and clinical protocols in-house, powering a next-generation health scan, led by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek, has opened its doors in New York.

Neko Health has opened its first U.S. clinic at 300 Lafayette Street in SoHo, following a waitlist of more than 25,000 New Yorkers. Founded by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Spotify’s Daniel Ek, Neko has already served more than 100,000 members across Sweden and the UK. Its one-hour health scan combines assessments of skin, heart, blood, and metabolic health, followed by a clinician consultation, all for $499. The company is bringing its preventive healthcare model to the U.S., aiming to shift healthcare from treating disease after it develops toward earlier detection and action.

“Hjalmar and I have talked about bringing Neko to America since the earliest days of the company because if you want to change healthcare at scale, the U.S. has to be part of that ambition,” said Daniel Ek, Co-Founder of Neko Health. “New York is the starting point. New Yorkers place an incredible value on their time and have exceptionally high expectations for how they spend it. This city doesn't settle for good enough, and neither do we.”

The 60-minute, radiation-free visit combines advanced hardware, health intelligence, and clinician expertise. The Neko Health Scan captures 6,000 skin images, assesses cardiovascular health and body composition, and tests 50+ blood biomarkers. A 30-minute clinician consultation then reviews the results and creates an action plan.

The resulting health baseline can be tracked over time to surface early signals before symptoms appear. Results and scan history are available through the Neko Health app, which also integrates daily wearable data.

Neko develops its own medical devices, hardware, software, and systems to capture and analyze health data within a single experience.

In New York, Neko Health refers members requiring follow-up care to vetted providers including General Medicine, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Schweiger Dermatology, and Mount Sinai, while also allowing referrals to a member’s existing clinician. HSA and FSA payments are accepted.

The U.S. launch follows Neko’s $700 million Series C, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and co-led by O.G. Venture Partners, with participation from several high-profile investors and public figures.

New York is the first step in Neko’s U.S. expansion, with additional New York locations and clinics planned for Miami, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco.
