Multifactor, redefining zero-trust so you can protect your accounts with confidence, led by Vivek Nair, Ph.D. and Colin Roberts, Ph.D., has secured $15M seed round led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from amazing funds like Y Combinator, Taurus Ventures, Honeystone Ventures, Flex Capital, Pioneer Fund, Ritual Capital, Liquid2 Ventures and leading operators across security, AI and enterprise software including Mohan Warrior & Padma Warrior, Gokul Rajaram and Mathilde Collin.

A decade of escalating attacks has made identity the most exploited weakness across government, enterprise, and consumer systems. The rise of agentic AI has further amplified the need for stronger security foundations.

Multifactor was established as a public benefit company to advance this mission, reflecting the belief that safeguarding digital identity is a responsibility as much as a market need. Early users, advisors, and investors continue to reinforce the conviction that identity security must become fundamentally better.

The shift to AI agents has exposed a critical gap: modern collaboration cannot rely on password-based or legacy identity systems built for a pre-AI era. Agents acting on behalf of humans require secure access without credential exposure, and identity systems must provide mathematically provable guarantees. Multifactor is building this foundation, enabling safe access-sharing for both human and AI collaborators.

Rooted in scientific rigor, the team emphasizes curiosity, transparency, and first-principles engineering. Research is openly published, open-source contributions are prioritized, and accountability is treated as a core operating value. This culture drives the pursuit of hard problems with clarity and precision, resulting in technology designed for the realities of the AI era.

The new funding accelerates work on advanced identity infrastructure, API expansion, enterprise controls, and the growth of a world-class research and engineering organization. As zero-trust becomes essential to every digital workflow, Multifactor aims to ensure that identity evolves from a vulnerability into a reliable security cornerstone for the AI-native future.
