Mirendil, an AI research lab building self-accelerating systems that turn compute into scientific and engineering breakthroughs, led by Behnam Neyshabur, Harsh Mehta, Shayan Salehian, and Tara Rezaei, has announced its launch with $200 million seed funding led by Andreessen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins, followed by an investment from NVIDIA, among others.
Mirendil is building frontier AI systems designed to accelerate AI research and development through increasingly autonomous workflows. The company is focused on developing models capable of contributing meaningfully to AI research while redesigning the entire R&D process around AI to improve the speed, efficiency, and scalability of model development.
The long-term vision extends beyond building more capable AI models. Mirendil aims to create a self-improving AI R&D platform that can continuously advance its own capabilities, making frontier AI research more accessible to organizations working in fields such as drug discovery, chemistry, biology, robotics, and advanced scientific computing. By lowering the barriers to cutting-edge AI development, the company seeks to accelerate scientific discovery and enable faster innovation across a broad range of industries.
