Leanspace, a European satellite operations technology provider, led by Guillaume Tanier, Alvaro Alonso Ruiz, and Gert Villemos, has raised €10 million in Series A funding from new strategic investors: ISAI Cap Venture, Capgemini’s corporate venture arm, Qwaltec, 42CAP, Karista, and Arnaud Guérin, co-founder of military AI platform Preligens. Additional non-dilutive funding comes from Caisse d’Epargne and Bpifrance via the France 2030 strategic investment plan.

The space sector is evolving fast with satellite constellations, dynamic missions, and rising security needs, yet operational technologies haven’t kept up, driving cost and complexity. With new funding and strategic alliances, Leanspace will accelerate the move to software-defined satellite operations across Europe and North America.

Founded in 2020, Leanspace provides a modern software platform for satellite and ground-segment operations, now used by more than 20 operators worldwide. Initially focused on smallsat missions with customers like Quantum Space, Look Up, and Clearspace, the company has expanded into enterprise and institutional markets, securing seven contracts with agencies and primes including Airbus Defence & Space, Hispasat, and the European Space Agency.

Leanspace serves six key segments: small satellites, in-orbit servicing vehicles, constellations, launchers and spaceports, large satellites, and ground station networks, offering software across satellite monitoring and control, mission planning, ground-segment orchestration, and hardware testing.

With new strategic industrial investors, the company is accelerating its move into large, high-complexity, and security-critical programs. Using Leanspace’s platform and open customization model, these partners will deliver turnkey mission-operations systems along with managed services, engineering support, and compliance with national security requirements in both Europe and the US.

Leanspace is building a global ecosystem around its platform, inviting satellite manufacturers, integrators, cloud providers, SSA, GSaaS, and other space service companies to help create the next generation of software-defined space infrastructure.
