Interceptor Startup Singularity Emerges from Stealth with an $80M Series A at a $400M Valuation

Singularity, the defence tech startup building a safer world, led by Jack Oswald and the team, has emerged from stealth with an $80M Series A led by Khosla Ventures and Felicis, a $400M valuation, and a mission to deploy “low-cost air defence systems at scale.” Seed investors AE Ventures and NEA participated in the round, alongside Harpoon, Menlo Ventures, New Vista, Decisive Point, Y Combinator, Long Journey, and others.

Like many next-generation defense startups, Singularity was shaped by lessons from the battlefield in Ukraine. During a visit two years ago, founder Oswald met with air defense commanders, operators, and wounded soldiers who described the growing threat posed by Shahed drones, glide bombs, and increasingly sophisticated strike systems.

Those conversations inspired the development of an air defense system designed to address the realities of modern warfare. The company continues to maintain a team in Ukraine, contributing to its close ties with frontline operations.

While Singularity remains in stealth, the company has revealed that it is developing a next-generation ground-launched interceptor designed to counter evolving aerial threats. Unlike existing man-portable or rocket-based interceptors, the system is intended to provide a long-term technological advantage rather than incremental improvements.

The interceptor integrates with existing command-and-control, radar, and fire-control systems, while nearly every subsystem, including the rocket motor, has been developed in-house, enabling rapid iteration and frequent flight testing. The company is working closely with the U.S. military, Ukraine, and international partners as it advances toward deployment.

Singularity is pairing its interceptor technology with a manufacturing strategy built for scale. Drawing on automotive production expertise, the company is investing much of its new $80 million funding into building what it says will be the largest air defense production lines in the United States.

The focus reflects surging global demand for affordable air defense systems, a market where supply continues to fall far short of operational needs. With large-scale manufacturing at its core, Singularity aims to accelerate deployment as it prepares to unveil its product in the coming months.
