Simile AI, a simulation platform for human behavior, led by Joon Sung Park, Michael Bernstein, Lainie Yallen, Percy Liang, and the team, has raised $100 million in Series A led by Index Ventures with participation from Hanabi Capital, A*, Bain Capital Ventures (BCV), Andrej Karpathy, Fei-Fei Li, Adam D'Angelo, Guillermo Rauch, Scott Belsky, and others.

Joon, an oil painter turned entrepreneur, combines creativity with operational excellence, ambition with realism, and competitiveness with empathy. Together with Percy and Michael, the founding team introduced generative agents, rich agentic simulations, and the term “foundation model.” Their character and competence attracted exceptional talent, including Elaina and Mihika, inspiring strong confidence in the mission.

Simile partners with individuals to build high-fidelity models of how each person lives and makes decisions. These digital twins are orchestrated to predict what real people will do, and why. A staggering range of applications and organizations seek answers to those questions.

Experience working closely with companies serving large enterprises has cultivated a strong instinct for market pull. When the world’s largest companies, across industries and geographies, voice the same pain points and share similar ambitions, demand for a platform becomes undeniable. Few moments have reflected this level of market pull since the early days of Wiz.

The combination of bold imagination, an all-star team, and undeniable market demand underpins the leadership of Simile’s $100 million Series A. Joon, Percy, Michael, and Lainie are building foundational infrastructure for decision-making in an AI-native world, marking the beginning of an ambitious journey. Fellow hitchhikers, towels in hand.
