Lucis, your health companion, helping you deeply understand your biology and take action to improve it, led by Max Berthelot and Baptiste Debever, has raised a $20 million Series A, led by Singular, with participation from General CatalystY Combinator, and angels including investors behind Runna, Céline Lazorthes (Resilience), and Manu Lecomte.

The round follows Lucis’s $8M seed raise four months ago, bringing total funding to $28M. Lucis will use the capital to expand across Europe and further develop its AI-driven health companion app, amid rising demand for proactive, data-driven healthcare services.

Founded in 2025 by Maxime Berthelot and Baptiste Debever, Lucis delivers a data-driven view of health by analyzing 110+ blood biomarkers across metabolic, hormonal, cardiovascular, inflammatory, and nutritional systems.

These inputs feed into an AI-powered health companion that combines longitudinal and medical context to generate personalized recommendations across nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle, and follow-up testing, with physician oversight ensuring clinical grounding. The company is supported by a 20-person team and a network of 10+ physicians providing medical review and guidance.

Early data from Lucis’s 10,000+ users shows strong engagement and measurable health improvements.

Among users completing a six-month follow-up, 75% improved at least three biomarkers without medication, and over 80% chose to retest, indicating sustained platform usage. At baseline, 99.9% of users had at least one biomarker outside optimal ranges, often without prior awareness.

Healthcare in Europe remains largely reactive, despite growing focus on prevention. An estimated 1.8 million deaths annually are considered avoidable and linked to chronic diseases, while up to 80% of deaths from conditions such as heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes are preventable, yet testing is often infrequent and not tracked longitudinally.

Against this backdrop, rising health awareness and advances in AI are driving demand for proactive, personalized care. Lucis combines AI with clinical oversight to integrate biomarker data, medical context, and longitudinal health tracking into continuous, individualized health guidance based on validated clinical protocols.

Maxime Berthelot, Co-founder and CEO of Lucis, emphasized the need to shift healthcare from late-stage diagnosis to early prevention, highlighting that combining biomarker data with AI-driven clinical insights can help identify risks earlier and move toward a preventive healthcare model in Europe.

Jeremy Uzan, Co-Founder & GP at Singular, said: "Europe's preventive health category will be won by platforms that unite clinical credibility with AI at scale. Lucis has moved with remarkable velocity, reaching 10,000 users in under a year, delivering measurable outcomes and building a compounding data advantage that sets the standard for the category. We see Lucis as a clear category winner in Europe and are excited to partner with the team as the product continues to evolve alongside customer needs."

Since launching in 2025, Lucis has expanded to over 10,000 users across France, the UK, Ireland, and Portugal, delivering more than one million biomarker tests.

The company has also built a growing community and partnerships with laboratory groups, including Eurofins and Randox, and plans to expand into Spain, Germany, and Italy by the end of 2026 while continuing to invest in personalization, longitudinal monitoring, and clinical safety.
