Helsing, providing Artificial Intelligence to protect its democracies, led by Dr. Gundbert Scherf, Niklas Köhler, and Torsten Reil, has raised $1.8bn in a Series E, valuing the company at US$18bn. New and existing investors participated in the round, including Dragoneer Investment Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Disruptive, Iconiq, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, JPMorgan Chase, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), General Catalyst, Plural, and Stepstone.
Investor demand for the funding round significantly exceeded the available allocation, reflecting strong confidence in AI-driven and software-defined defence technologies. Despite the international backing, the company remains predominantly European-owned, reinforcing its strong European foundation.
Helsing’s board remains unchanged, led by Co-Chairmen Daniel Ek and Tom Enders, alongside board members Jeannette zu Fürstenberg, Denis Mercier, and the company’s founders. The funding will accelerate the development and deployment of AI-powered defence platforms for partner nations. Existing investors include Prima Materia, Accel, and Greenoaks.
