DianaHR, an AI-powered HR platform for small businesses led by Upeka Bee, Timothy Elser, Michael Chang, Vaijayanthi (VJ) Jagannathan, and others, has secured $3.7 million seed round led by Kevin Mahaffey of SNR Ventures, with participation from General Catalyst, Y Combinator, Liquid2 Ventures, Roar Ventures and prominent angels including Immad Akhund, Justin Kan, Emmett Shear and Arash Ferdowsi.
DianaHR was founded by Upeka Bee, former Head of Engineering at Gusto HR, after recognizing that SMBs needed more than another dashboard; they needed HR-as-a-Service. The platform integrates seamlessly with ADP, Gusto, Rippling, Warp, and Every.io, allowing requests through email or Slack. AI agents handle most tasks automatically, while dedicated HR specialists step in for complex issues, combining the efficiency of automation with the empathy of human expertise.
DianaHR delivers measurable impact: customers reclaim 15+ hours weekly, cut HR costs by 60%+, and report an NPS of 90+ with zero churn to date. Revenue has doubled every quarter since launch. Unlike payroll providers or consultancies, DianaHR blends AI automation, covering 90% of HR tasks like payroll, benefits, onboarding, compliance, and taxes—with dedicated specialists for complex cases, all seamlessly integrated into existing tools with no setup required.
With the new funding, DianaHR will expand engineering and operations teams, accelerate its product roadmap, and onboard more businesses from its growing waitlist. The mission is clear: deliver world-class HR to the 1.4M U.S. SMBs with 10–500+ employees that have long been underserved and overcharged. This milestone marks just the beginning, as DianaHR continues building solutions that remove back-office headaches and empower founders and operators to scale with ease.
