CoreWeave, a cloud purpose-built for scaling, supporting, and accelerating GenAI, led by Mike Intrator, Brian Venturo, Brannin McBee, Peter Salanki, Nitin Agrawal, Sachin Jain, Jean English, and others, announced a definitive agreement to acquire OpenPipe Inc., a leading platform for training AI agents with reinforcement learning (RL), led by founders Kyle Corbitt and David Corbitt. Terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.

OpenPipe has developed advanced machine learning techniques that serve as a preferred framework for training agents. Its technology democratizes reinforcement learning, enabling developers to post-train on their own workflows so agents can learn from experience and continuously improve in accuracy, performance, and reliability.

AI labs are investing in reinforcement learning to improve autonomous problem-solving and outcomes. OpenPipe supports this with its widely used open-source toolkit, Agent Reinforcement Trainer (ART), and a tool that adapts AI models to new tasks, enabling enterprises to access custom models without complex training.

CoreWeave, the leading AI cloud platform, is expanding its vertical integration with the acquisition of OpenPipe, adding reinforcement learning and fine-tuning capabilities that give customers more flexibility to train, adapt, and optimize AI models.
